Forest Hill is involved in many areas of ministry. There is a place for you here with us.
Our children’s ministry is very exciting. Of course we have Sunday School and nursery on Sunday mornings, but we also have a music program for our young people to be involved in. We teach them to play chimes and to sing. This involves teaching rhythm and counting and it allows them to learn to serve the Lord at an early age. Throughout the church year they preform and sing in different services.
We have an active youth group. We join with other churches at various times throughout the year and participate in youth events. Our youth usually take on a mission trip each summer.
Our ladies are involved with McKemie Place (which is the region’s only shelter for homeless women) by providing “Safe Heaven” which is a safe place for the women on weekend days. Each quarter we host these precious ladies and have activities in which they may participate. We feed them breakfast and lunch.
We also do special events throughout the year which impact our neighborhood. Easter egg hunt, Vacation Bible School, Trunk-or-Treat, and in December we host a community Christmas Saturday where Santa comes and visits with the children.
We are also involved with the United Methodist Children’s Home out on Schillinger’s Road. “Babies First” which is a home for teenage unwed mothers to get support and training, and hopefully a high school education and perhaps help them learn a trade.
There are plenty of opportunities for spiritual growth for you here as well. Sunday school classes, midweek bible study (Tuesday mornings and Wednesday nights), there is even a ladies group which meets on Wednesday night and there is a Sunday evening study group with meets for four, ten-week sessions.
Come check us out. You may like us and we will love you!
