Rev. John Han, Pastor
Rev. John Han is a passionate, creative, and spiritual leader and disciple of Christ committed to the good news of Jesus Christ for the kingdom of God in the local church and the community. He casts the vision for the church and sets the overall direction for church programs. He provides leadership for and actively participates in worship, preaching, pastoral care, discipleship, evangelism, and mission for the transformative life of members.
A native of South Korea, John completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Polymer at Dankook University, South Korea in 2001. He pursued the Master of Science in Physics at Yonsei University but could not complete it due to a car accident. With ceaseless prayers, he strongly felt he was called to be in a professional Christian ministry. He moved to the United States in 2005 to begin seminary. He studied for Master of Divinity in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX for 3 years and transferred to Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. John completed his Master of Divinity at Brite in fall, 2011. He became an ordained elder with the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2016. He has been appointed as the pastor of Ferris Heights since July, 2020.
John and his wife, Sunny, have been married since 2002. They have one child: Kristina.
Angie Heck, Administrative Secretary
Our church has really been blessed to have Angie in the office. She is the first face most people see when they come to the church during the week. She is responsible for the church calendar, entering and maintaining financial data and also for editing as well as printing material produced in house.
She is married to Bob and they have a daughter Rachel.
Dawn Davis, Organist
Dawn is very active in the Music Ministry of Ferris Heights as the Organist and Pianist. She has a great personality and loves her church. She has been with Ferris Heights since January 1996. We are blessed to have Dawn with us as the Organist!
Dawn has two children, Colleen, and Keira, and three grandchildren.
Dr. Jennifer Taylor, Children’s Ministry Director
Jennifer Taylor is a third-generation member of Ferris Heights UMC and is honored to be serving as the Children’s Ministry Director. Jennifer has a Ph.D. in K-16 Educational Leadership and worked at The University of Texas at Arlington for 12 years before becoming a stay-at-home mama. She is passionate about providing engaging ways for children to learn about God in a safe, loving environment.
Jennifer is also a talented musician, regularly singing and playing the fiddle during worship. She hopes to bring her love of music and education together to help FH kids learn Biblical truths through kid-friendly worship songs!
Jennifer and her husband, Ryan, have been married since 2017. They have two children, Landry and Luke.
Dianna Robertson, Children’s Ministry Assistant Director
Shannon Goretska, Youth Director
Shannon Goretska is Ferris Heights Youth Director. Shannon is a School Teacher for WISD and loves kids. She is married to Kyle Goretska and they have 3 boys. Shannon is excited to be the Youth Director here at Ferris Heights, she has many things planned for the Youth. Please join us on Wednesday evenings at 4:30 for UMY.
Abby Machuca, Custodian & Nursery
The church is blessed to have Abby become the church custodian as well as one of our nursery care workers. Abby is always smiling and is wonderful to be around. She keeps the church very clean.
Abby is married to Marco Machuca and they have two children, Nick and Kaylee.
